Ok, so no one has missed the vampire craze, unless you spent the last years under a stone in the middle of nowhere. I tried to go there, because I’m not really into the whole fang-thing, but in the end I wanted a night out with friends so I ended up at Fangtasia’s b’day party in East London. Now, this is not a BDSM-event, but kinky enough to have plenty of eyecandy and outrageous performances.

I’ve departed somewhat from my high-femme personae lately. This evening was bikerchick in latex-tights and leathergloves. There is something special about being able to stomp properly in boots.
While alcohol was flowing there was also familiar faces everywhere and a welcoming atmosphere and adding some really bloody good performances to that, I stumbled home quite pleased.

First I must say, I am pretty tired of the whole burlesque-craze, a craze which is now at its height in Sweden and still being quite strong here in the U.K. While I acknowledge that there certainly can be interesting art created, I rarely get this from burlesque-performers, who often just play into a role that is already established rather than subverting it, as it was intended to do from the beginning.
But at Fangtasia, there was suddenly a creature on stage, dancing with feathers, dressed in a white latex catsuit and white latex hood with only one opening for the eye, that was framed with bright red sparkles. There was a nozzle leading from the mouth to a  bag strapped to her leg, filled with a red fluid. She danced slowly to this track while drinking it all up, all the red fluid.

And here you can see it all, the amazing performance by Marnie Scarlet:

A second show was one with a couple of friends of mine who went full out. The delectable Electronic Doll starts off on the scene, dancing but all of a sudden attacked, first once but fighting it off with a cheeky smile, then surprised by the next attack, and with two against one and a chain around her neck, she is at the mercy of the two ruthless and violent vampires who string her up and get all the blood they can from her. These guys get into it. There is shouting, punching, screaming, wide-eyed surprise and fear, fake blood all over the place and some humour. Which is something I find extremely encouraging. What would all of this be if there was no fun? No irony, satire, no sense of humour and ability to look at ourselves not too seriously?

Anyhow, that evening only got better when Shadow turned up, completely unexpected. We spoke for a good part of the evening, and she helped me to see the plateau I’ve come to with my rope as something that is being processed.
I guess there is always the factor that I’ve been going full out the last year or so, trying to do as much and learn as much as possible, and now there has been an overdose. The days before Fangtasia I had been a bit on and off with the rope, been left with my feelings of being uninspired as well as quite messy in the work I’ve tried to do. But Shadow made me remember that old thing about stuff such as writer’s block. It is not a block but a transitional stage, where things happen in your brain, but not necessarily is ready to reach your fingers yet. That is why I’ve been kind to myself, no pressure but rather enjoyment and positive input.

Which, in reality, means that I am really lazy and tie very few people, and instead enjoy being in the ropes myself. Now, since it was my b’day just a couple of days before Fangtasia, I was cheeky enough to ask B if he wanted to do some rope, since he had brought them with him because of the earlier performance. And after the shows were done, people had smoked enough, danced enough (oh yes, there was dancing to good music!) we all went home. And I fell asleep smiling, thinking of having teeth sinking into my flesh, slowly, slowly.

London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage- Part II

Dear reader; I am so sorry for the delay with the updates on this blog.  This summer has been amazing, but I was caught in a net of writer’s block and lazyness.

As the Sunday evening came, so did the main-party. Thanks to Clover and Dave I was provided with  an obi, holding together the kimono I wore.It was also Dave who kindly tied said obi It was indeed one of the most comfortable outfits I ever worn to a party, which just shows that it was not a real kimono… All in all, it was not a genuine kimono nor a ‘genuine’ look, but it was very comfortable to run around in that outfit.

Bunny and I met, her looking gorgeous as always. We wanted to play during the evening, and as the first show started we were already up on the mezzanine, but when Dasniya Sommer went on stage, we took a break to stand and watch a mesmerizing dance between two people. Sommer’srope-partner was wrapped up in a piece of fur, creating beautiful contrast to Sommer, who was naked, if one disregard her amazing haircolour, which matched the color of her pubic hair (attention to details indeed.

The fur and the music made me think of Russia for some reason, but speaking to Sommer a bit later, she said that it was more alluding to animals at play. The double suspension, in which her partner was first suspended and then she joined in was magical and very different from many other shows seen before.  The shows throughout the evening had those unique qualities that made my both cry and laugh, never becoming bored. But as any party, there was a lot of socializing going on, making me miss a performance every now and then.

Shadow did one amazing show again, and with her signature of strong, playful session while still remaining in full control, maintaining the energy from the beginning to the end, using her body as well as the rope to shift the balance of her gorgeous rope-bunny.
It was indeed an evening that both showed the skills of the riggers but also of the rope-models.

The show by Mistress Amrita was one which took us to a interesting place where there was sea, and mermaids and nets, the performers enclosed in a big plastic bag, giving them a sphere where we could see them and they could see us but still a small layer of plastic was between the audience and the performers, giving it even more of a otherworldly feeling and maybe also pushing buttons on voyerism and exhibitionism. Who is actually being watched?

The mermaid was released from a net, suspended, taken down, transformed into a human, to then be pushed head first into water. This piece was so well thought out, with music, outfits, ropes and props taken in to account.

Boykitten,  did a dramatic and powerful selfsuspension in ballet-boots At one point he started to thrash around testing the ropes to the limit and pushing his own body and in the second after, complete control and stillness.  Very impressive and also one of the youngest (the youngest one?) on stage during the weekend.

The highlight was Kinoko’s performance. He had no music, and it was like you were watching private play between two persons. I’ve never been in a room with a couple of hundred people and it been so silent as it was during his performance. When he hit with tiny bamboorods on the top of her feet, you heard the audience draw their breath, and you heard every squeel from Arisa as she was placed in positions I did not know was possible. There was a complete trust, and I can really recommend to view the video. Sensual, emotional, painful, perfect.

Two other performances, both spellbinding and intense in their own right, was still working on very different levels.  Nawashi Murakawa drew us in to a world which felt like travelling through history, to the japanese country side, him walking with two gorgeous female prisoners with ropes around their necks.

Please press play for music similar to the one used in Nawashi Murakawa’s performance.
Hypnotic to say at least, and it really gave the audience something completely else.  The music, the rope-artistry, scenography, it all came together and made complete sense, creating a dream.

Contrasting that was Esinem and Electric Fairy, who did a school-themed suspension scene, with even the music fitting perfectly. (Queen and Pink Floyd to mention a few).E.F was the naughty girl caught perving over her teacher, who then discovers masses of rope in her bag, some sex toys and then an apple. Suitable punishment followed. Esinem always effects you as a viewer, I’ve never seen a show or play by him and not felt it. He and E.F oozes of chemistry and his ropework  is fast, precise and in his sadism there is so much care shining through that they both radiate.

When the shows were all over around 3 o’ clock in the morning the play and party still continued and I only had about 3 hours of sleep before heading back for a final day of related activity.  Let’s hope that post wont be taking as long for me to write as this one.

Great things ahead

New week, new horizons, a good feeling. I spent the weekend with friends, drinking to much alcohol, sleeping not very much, queuing 5 o’clock in the morning,   getting to know new, beautiful people, being flogged and then tied up in a rope-suspension. Will write a bit more about that later.

Now, first of all, if you are based in London or reasonable vincinity, or even far away and would not mind travelling for something special, you might want to check this out:

The event is the so called ‘illegitimate lovechild’, stemming from the San Francisco version with the same name, and I have a feeling it will be frigging awesome.
As fetish-clubs in London are awesome, a new club certainly must have something else and I think it is here that Kinky Salon will succeed. Not strictly a fetish club, but rather a playful, hedonist, sexy, queer space that encourages outrageous behaviour and creativity that is not directly associated with the usual dresscode of fetish-clubs, this might be exactly what you need.
The next party is on March 13, 2010, from 9 pm-4 pm and this is what they say about what is awaiting you who decide to go:

“Prepare yourself to have your inner child corrupted at the Toybox for Misfit Toys!

In honour of our first Kinky Salon endeavour, and the playful environment we hope to create, we’d like to corrupt your inner child at the Toybox for Misfit Toys!

“Come, naughty children, go fetch your warm gingerbread
and into the Dark Woods of Bed Time Stories, shall we tread…
Past pubescent candy bushes and gooey gumdrop vales,
Down moist, heaving slopes and past slippery, wet dales!
Where Beautiful Princesses dream in deep slumber
of being lavished upon by not one, but three Princes, in number!

Where Little Miss Muffet, that cheeky young tart
stuck a thumb up Jack Horner and gave him a start!
(and BTW- what the f*ck is a Tuffet?)

And yes, it’s quite true, (but long ago from the books since cut)
that the Mad Hatter had a thing for Alice’s perky, round butt-
He spanked her so firmly with his small, gloved hand,
it did wake the Jabberwocky from Slythy Tove Land!
And Snow White, that prude who just LOVED to sing
got herself tied up and lashed good, with a dragonfly wing
(by  Evil Witch & Puss-In-Boots …a Faux Queen and Faux King)

How about poor Rapunzel, pestered by that weird, pervert Gnome- all hairy?
Or, all the positions possible with 3 Bears and a girl ?
(Ponder that, yeah, it’s just scary…)

And of course all our favorite, the one with the Wolf
who had his head lopped off,  a-Trisket a-trasket
by Miss Thang with a huge knife she kept hid in her basket!
‘..all the better to chop your frickin head off, Mr. BEEEYOTCH!’”

I’m so going.
Another event you don’t want to miss is the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage (don’t try to say that fast and many times!). This is an event during easter (2-5 april, 2010) and with loads of workshops and shows, by those who are amongst the rope-savviest people in the world.
Will bump these events more in future as well.

Erotic Awards 2009

Dear reader, may we direct your attention towards the possibility to nominate this blog for The Erotics Award for best Blog 2009?

We would of course be eternally grateful 🙂

And don’t forget to nominate Club Crimson in the category for Best Club, they are truly making London Fetish Clubbin’ into a wonderful thing!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Tomorrow, I am making use of the American so called Black Friday. I’m going to get two dresses from House of Bias and some other lovely thing, and since the dollar is so weak + the sale is on, it’s going to feel so good. And I’ve got something very blasphemous ordered yesterday.

Essays are getting written and I don’t really have the attention span to write on two blogs in the same time.
But I would like to make a quick note of a couple of awesome experiences that I’ve had lately:

A very rewarding beginners bondage workshop with London’s own Esinem. A full day of ropetalk and tying. What not to like is there, really?!
Esinem works from the codex of ‘tie people, not parcels’. That means that it is the interaction with the involved that matters, actions and reactions. Tying people, not on armlenghts distance but being close. Expressing, with rope, the connection. Not talking about Two Knotty Boys here, but the oh so wonderful ways of connecting with ropebunny.

So, while he was learning us single and double column ties, he also spoke and showed us ways to keep the connection, keep it flowing and basically, keeping it hot and exciting. There was tricks there that suddenly fell into place, but at some points I also fell flat. Because suddenly a two column tie seemed like the toughest thing in the whole world. I react in the same way when going to a dance class. I concentrate so much on following the steps that I can’t do it at all. Very frustrating.
But as the day went on and more and more jute fluff flew around in the room I relaxed. A very nice relaxed lunch was topped with some videos with the work of Osada Steve, but also some of the work that Esinem himself has done. Here is an example of what I see is a very strong performance, using bondage in a provocative, political, thoughtful, creative and downright amazing way.

Anyhow, after some well deserved lunch we continued, and in the end of the day there was even some time to try out a chest-harness. Before that I decided to do some self-bondage and it became something really nice that I know enjoy a lot as an activity. In regards to the chest-harness I must admit that I only came halfway, but that halfway through a chestharness gave me more thoughts and insights that any other has done so far.
I can recommend the course, and if you feel that a beginners course is a bit to simple for you ( I would love to do the same again so I could frame everything better and practice with more supervision!) there is alos a intermediate course and a advanced.  It’s well worth the money, Esinem teaches very well, give you tips, insights, inspiration, and you will have a lot of fun.

A couple of days later I attended a peer-rope workshop. Which was also amazing. A sunday afternoon and evening and the hours flew by all to fast. Watched some wonderful ropework being done, including a lot of suspensions.  Did again some self-bondage, got some help with that, then had a really beautiful spiderharness done, and in the end having very fun with an amazing woman. We hid a bit, found a calm space with dimmed lightning and sat down on the floor. And this is where I keep coming back to. Those 20, 30 minutes with her. Because afterwards, my legs were shaking, I was giggly and calm in the same time. And I had been the one doing the tying. Not since this summer I had felt anything like it (yes, I miss Korrosion) and it made me love the event even more. So, if you are in London, like rope, not busy on a sunday,  check if the peer-rope is happening and go.

Last, but certainly not least. A new shining star on the club sky in London. Crimson is so fucking good. With a focus on the playspace, they must be the most well-equiped playclub in th U.K with at least two suspensionframes, numerous crosses, spankingbenches, a spitroast, bondagebed, medical play area, etc, etc. There is always space to play, but still very easy to be social and feel relaxed. All in all, it feels like a very, very big houseparty that is so kinky that it would make your jaw drop. Next one will be in february and I will be there.

Internet is for pr0n

In times when I got lots and lots of things I want to write, it is easy that it takes too much time before getting an actual post out there. So here is one more of those ‘look at this! ‘.

I had one of those weird sleepless nights some days ago and ended up clicking away on youtube.
This was one of my favourite, who said BDSMers did have a sense of humour?!

Then, Torture Garden reminded me of what I like with the club in the first place. Through Torture Garden TV I was watching performances and interviews. Of course there was the stereotypical bull every here and there, but it was a couple of interviews I found really interesting and refreshing.
First of all, Buck Angel. Oh, how much adore that man with a pussy. This is a very basic interview but in the same time it is still oh so clear what he is talking about. A man I truly admire on so many levels.

Secondly, Kumi’s interview as well as show with Midori are clips that show something that is completely different from many other shows out there. Kumi states that she is looking for something new, something that gear away from the usual shows, that she is not very interested in the usual images of BDSM and wants to create art. It is important to remember these artists, because without them, the kink-scene would die. And boredom would rule.

A bit more with Kumi can be seen in this video, which is truly a work of art with  behind the scenes photos from a session in collaboration with Gilles Berquet and Mirka Lugosi.

There you go. Hope you have patience enough to wait for those texts that I’m working on!

London Fetish Fair & London Alternative Market

I don’t think  ( and really hope) that no one objects when I say that kink is big buisness and loads of money. Because it is.  Searching on the internet makes you find virtually everything. Some of the sites and buisnesses are great, some are less great, and my ‘humble’ opinion is that most of it is kack.
My own shopping is more or less based on the senses. I like touch and use it when ever I can. But I also like to be able to pay a fair amount of money, rather than a mad over-the-top kind of style. I don’t think a horsewhip that is 10 quid should be 40 just because it is sold as a BDSM-object.

In Sweden, there is a certain limitation of choice, as everywhere else. Everyone can find the local hardware store (which are great!) and in at least every smaller city there is a ‘erotic boutique’ or pr0n shop as I like to call them. I may be judgemental, but it is rare that the conventional store actually have something that is both good quality and safe to use and furthermore, staff is not very interested in helping out. I am talking about normal towns here folks, in Sweden, and we may be perverts, but the market is still bollocks, filled with toys that are both dangerous, badly produced, riding on the fears of the consumers, etc etc. So, either if you are into the pain and domination filth or if you are just dipping your toes, it can be recommended  to do some research.  And to help you out, I am going to start the…..*drumsolo*

‘Ve’s guide to filthy shopping’

next week.

But before that starts, there is other hunting grounds to be found. If you are so lucky and spend some time in London then it could be that you find yourself being able to go to London Fetish Fair (LFF) or London Alternative Market (LAM). Both are markets aimed for the pervert who like to socialise, learn and maybe shop.
LAM is every first Sunday of the month and LFF takes place every second Sunday. If you are in London and have the possibility to go, do. The prices are fair, the people are fun and it is also no dresscode + playpartys after each and every event.
